GENERAL ARTISTS CORPORATION TOURNEE - AUGUSTUS 1957

De eerste tournee die Buddy Holly & The Crickets maken voor

General Artists Corporation begint op 2 augustus 1957 in het

Howard Theatre in de Amerikaanse hoofdstad Washington.

Deze tournee wordt gemaakt met Clyde McPhatter,

Oscar & Oscar, The G-Clefs, The Cadillacs, Edna McGriff,

Otis Rush, Lee Andrews & The Hearts.

Opvallend zijn de concerten van 16 t/m 22 augustus 1957 in het

Apollo Theatre in de New-Yorkse wijk Harlem.

Het overwegend zwarte publiek is niet enthousiast over

Buddy Holly & The Crickets. De eerste twee avonden

worden zij met boe-geroep ontvangen.

Daarna gaat het publiek “plat” voor de muziek van

Buddy Holly & The Crickets.

2 t/m 8 augustus - Howard Theater, Washington

9 t/m 15 augustus - Royal Theater, Baltimore, Maryland

16 t/m 22 augustus - Apollo Theater, New York

30 augustus - Brooklyn Paramount Theater, New York
